Sunday was the season home opener for the Seattle Seahawks and our day started bright and early with another KING 5 News broadcast live from Stadium Place!
KING 5 brought their twelfie sunglasses to give away to everyone who came by Stadium Place and donated food to Northwest Harvest!
We love having our favorite morning anchor raise our 12th man flag on the roof and this time Joyce Taylor brought a very special guest with her. KING 5 held a contest to select a lucky winner to help raise our huge 12th Man flag and that lucky winner this game was Seahawks super fan, Kristi! She was nominated by her friends and family for all she does in the community. Her husband is in the Navy and he has been deployed for the better part of six years - while he is away Kristi takes care of her son and live-in in-laws. She was the perfect choice to raise the flag on Patriot Day!
The day continued with a resident tailgate party! We had all the game day favorites - wings, meatballs, quesadillas and crockpots filled with juicy pulled pork for sliders! Residents were full and ready for some football.
Right before the game KIRO 7 got us excited for kickoff with their pre-game show. The crowd and the fireworks over CenturyLink field make everything even more exciting! The game was a bit of a nail-biter but we pulled off a win with an awesome finish! We wrapped up the day with the KIRO 7 post-game show and what a day it was! We can't wait for what's in store the rest of the season, go hawks!
